Christ calmed the troubled Sea of Galilee, and He has the power to calm our troubled hearts. With all of His goodness and power, Jesus humbly bore all of our pains, sorrows and sufferings so that He might best know how to lift us. He wanted that personal experience so that He could best lead you and me along. Christ lifts us out of the waves of sorrow because He has been there. He encourages us to be of good cheer, not because that is all he has experienced, but because He has gone through the worst of it, right along with us. He is a man of sorrows, one aquatinted with grief. He sees us as we really are and as we can become. He knows that we are children of His Father. Though the waves and the winds blow in our lives, He is always there.
