"Souviens-toi" means "remember" in French. The symbols of water and bread serve as a reminder of Jesus Christ's sacrifice for us, in that he sacrificed his blood and flesh to atone for our sins and overcome not just physical death but a spritual death(or separation from God our Heavenly Father) as well. Through this sacrifice, He has given us the opportunity to return back to our loving home in heaven. After sacrificing everything for us, Christ as asked that we simply remember Him and keep His commandments. As we do this, we are blessed beyond all measure. This painting depicts the beauty found in the ordinary, having the complimentary colors of yellow and purple depicting the light and mercy that can be brought into our lives as we sincerely partake of His sacrament and remember Him.
