Matt 26:37 “And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.”
The strength of the Son was great, yet even the Son of God was weighed down with the cares of His heart. As he approached our sufferings, our sorrows, our mistakes, and the injustices that mankind had, has and would endure, He allowed Himself to feel the weight. For multiple years I have dealt and learned to cope with mental health issues relating to depression and anxiety. When thinking of those dark times, the phrase ‘sorrowful and very heavy’ fits perfectly. I am so immensely grateful that the Savior of the world understands what I went through and that
he has already gone through the trials that lie ahead. He stayed true to His promise, allowing Him to better love us.
